One Hour Cares, a philanthropic initiative created by One Hour Heating & Air Conditioning, has named Angel’s Hands at the Ranch its latest $5,000 winner.
The Suffolk-based nonprofit organization is a restoration home on a 22-acre ranch for trafficked victims, as well as girls in danger of being trafficked, including those aging out of foster care and female veterans.
“The goal of the organization is to give these ladies a second chance and get them back on their feet through education, counseling, job skills and training,” said Dana Wynn, founder.
“We will use the $5,000 toward the purchase a second home that will allow us to house up to seven more girls.”
Since 2012, One Hour Cares has recognized hundreds of Hampton Roads charities like Angel’s Hands at the Ranch, with nearly $70,000 in total donations.
The program, created to raise awareness of the smaller organizations, encourages the community to nominate deserving nonprofits and vote quarterly on selected finalists. To learn more, visit OneHourCares.com.
