Nansemond-Suffolk Academy’s lacrosse team was defeated by Hampton Roads Academy Monday afternoon.
The Saints fell 9-8 in the close game against HRA. It was the second time both teams met in two weeks, only this time it was in the opening round of the Tidewater Conference of Independent Schools tournament. With the loss, the Saints won’t be able to capture a TCIS tournament title.
The game was expected to be a close matchup between the two, because of how highly ranked both teams are. NSA won the first game 12-6. Now, NSA will have to wait until Thursday, May 11 to hear who they will be playing in the Virginia Independent Schools Athletic Association Division II tournament. In the VISAA D-II poll ranking this week, NSA came in at No. 2, while HRA was a place behind at No. 3.
