Nansemond-Suffolk Academy’s girls’ soccer team was defeated by Hampton Roads Academy Tuesday afternoon on the road.

The Lady Saints ended their regular season with the 3-2 loss. They finish the regular season with a 7-7 record.

The loss will pencil in NSA as the sixth seed in the Tidewater Conference of Independent Schools tournament. Lady Saints coach James Michael Dick feels good about his team heading into the post season.

“We are very fortunate to have everyone back from injury,” he said. “I think we are as ready as we are going to be.”

To be successful in the post season, the Lady Saints believe they will have to remain competitive in every game. Staying focused even when things aren’t going right for the Lady Saints will also be key for them.

“We’ve had a lot of close games with top contenders in the conference, and they could have gone either way,” Lady Saint Abby Herrod said. “I think the most important thing is just staying focused on our teamwork. If we keep our intensity up the whole game and rally behind each other, we can advance in the tournament.”

The Lady Saints’ opponent will be either Cape Henry Collegiate or Bishop Sullivan Catholic High School. TCIS tournament play starts Tuesday.
