Elnora Parker Beamon

Elnora Parker Beamon, 83, of 610 Roosevelt Drive, Suffolk, transitioned Saturday, April 29, 2017, at Sentara Obici Hospital. She was a native of Whaleyville (Suffolk) and the daughter of the late Henry Parker and Sadie Ralph Parker. She was preceded in death by her husband, James S. Beamon Sr.; son, James S. Beamon Jr.; sisters, Mary Frances Smith and Ruth Ella Hunter; brothers, Buddy Henry Parker and Redell Parker.

She retired from Darden Egg Plant. She was a church mother of New Mt. Joy Food For Living Ministries.

She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Lee Esther Eley (Raymond), of Suffolk; stepdaughter, Mary Beamon, of Hampton; sons, Henry T. Beamon (Ethel), of Norwalk, Conn., Curtis E. Beamon, John W. Beamon (Kimberly) and David M. Beamon (Curlyphine), all of Suffolk; 27 grandchildren and 53 great-grandchildren; sister, Susie Mae Riddick, of Gates, N.C.; brother, Leroy Parker, of Philadelphia, Pa.; brother-in-law, Vernon Riddick; two sisters-in-law, Etta Wilson and Yvonne Hall; goddaughter, Christine Richardson; and a host of other relatives and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 7, 2017, at New Mt. Joy Food For Living Ministries, officiated by Bishop Viola Parker. Interment will be in Carver Memorial Cemetery.
