A middle school student has been recommended for an expulsion hearing after a teacher found a bottle containing suspected marijuana.
The incident happened on Friday at King’s Fork Middle School. A teacher at the school found a white, plastic bottle in a classroom that contained the substance, according to city spokeswoman Diana Klink.
A male juvenile student admitted that the bottle belonged to him, Klink stated. The School Resource Officer was notified, and the investigation remains ongoing, she said.
Suffolk Public Schools spokeswoman Bethanne Bradshaw said the student has been recommended for an expulsion hearing.
