A new apartment complex on Jolliff Road is expected to be open for residents early next year.

Clairmont at Jolliff Landing in Chesapeake is scheduled to for completion in January, according to contractor Michael Elza.

The site will have 13 residence buildings encompassing 304 one- and two-bedroom apartments.

One-bedroom units will be approximately 798 square feet, and two-bedroom units about 1,135 square feet. Residences will have living spaces, kitchen, and their own washer and dryers. Some units will have upgrades like stainless steel appliances and granite countertop.

A pool cabana is being constructed with grills, tables and a 2,073 square-foot pool. The outdoor area will have wood-burning fireplaces and flat-screen televisions. Residents will also have a children’s playground and a fenced-in dog park. Three separate garages also will be available for rent.

Chesapeake City Council also approved a rezoning request in January to allow for a mixed-use Kotarides Developers project dubbed Jolliff Landing at Western Branch. Kotarides Developers plans 361 homes on roughly 168 acres northwest of the intersection of Jolliff Road and Portsmouth Boulevard near the Suffolk city line.

The project will be adjacent to Clairmont at Jolliff Landing.
