‘Lucky to get a raise at all’

To the editor:

It’s disheartening and sad that teachers are doing a failing job in Suffolk and still complaining about getting a pay raise.

With poor performance and only 61-percent of schools accredited, they’re lucky to get a raise at all. And as far as I’m concerned the superintendent doesn’t deserve a raise, either.

If teachers are looking the gift horse in the mouth, they should quit. Maybe then, Suffolk could hire good teachers who would deserve that raise.

City Council should reject the school system’s budget. It’s stupid to reward failure.
