Alice Mullen

Alice Mullen transitioned Friday, March 10, 2017, at Sentara Obici Hospital. She was a native of Suffolk and the daughter of the late Willie and Leola Mullen Sr. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Willie Mae Thomas and Alice Wilson; and one brother, Willie Mullen Jr.

She retired from Glendale Senior Citizens Home after 15 years of service. She was a member of Word For Living Gospel Fellowship Center.

She leaves to cherish her memory her fiancé, Joel Ricks, of Suffolk; two sons, Lorenzo Mullen, of Fort Worth, Texas, and Daron Mullen, of Suffolk; two sisters, Geraldine Anderson and Carol Joe (John Jr.), both of Suffolk; two brothers, Ronald Mullen, of Greensville, and Terry Mullen, of Philadelphia, Pa.; two grandchildren, Reggie Mann and Kani Mullins; six nieces, six nephews, 15 great-nieces and -nephews, five great-great-nieces and -nephews; one aunt, Elizabeth Scott, of Baltimore, Md.; devoted cousin, Mary Frances Beamon; other relatives and friends.

A celebration of life will be held at noon Saturday, March 18, 2017, in the Melvin J. Blowe Chapel of Crocker Funeral Home Inc. She will be laid to rest in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
