One man was wounded, and police are looking for a suspect in a shooting that took place at about 8:15 p.m. Monday on Nancy Drive.
Arlester Ratcliff III, 29, was shot once in the arm and once in the stomach while he was a visitor in an apartment in the 100 block of Nancy Drive, according to police reports.
Suffolk spokesperson Debbie George said three people were visiting the apartment’s two residents Monday night when someone knocked on the door.
One of the five answered the door, and a black man holding a handgun stuck his arm inside, George said on Tuesday. As the person who had opened the door tried to close it, two shots were fired, hitting Ratcliff.
The suspect, whom the victim and occupants were unable to describe further, fled the scene. Ratcliff was taken by ambulance to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital with injuries that were not thought to be life threatening, George said.
