Peggy Geraldine Austin, 76, passed away on Feb. 22, 2017. She was born in Caswell County, N.C., to the late Bennie and Alice Sigmon. Peggy was a member of Main Street United Methodist Church. She worked 18 years for Walmart as a sales associate. Peggy was a past Girl Scout leader.

Left to cherish her memory are husband, P.C. Austin Jr.; son, Ney Calloway Austin (Laura), of Suffolk; daughters, Juliann Christine Austin Craver (Richard), of Clemens, N.C., Edith VertieBee Austin Baird, of Sedley, Peggy Marie Austin Bradshaw (Dale), of Suffolk; nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; brothers, Bennie, Harley, John, Doug Sigmon; sisters, Mary Jaynes, Shirley Austin, Judy Ryan, Trudy Morton, Joed Sigmon; nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday March 4, 2017, at Main Street United Methodist Church, 202 N. Main St., Suffolk, VA 23434 with the Rev. Myrtle Hatcher officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be offered to The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Hampton Roads Chapter, 6350 Center Drive, Suite 216, Norfolk, VA 23502.
