A local fire extinguisher company based in Suffolk is raffling a custom golf cart to raise money for Sentara Healthcare’s Nightingale air ambulance service.
The golf cart is valued at about $3,500. As a paramedic for a local fire department, Sheron Gibson knows how valuable the Nightingale service is.
“I know how much medical equipment can cost,” said Gibson. “I know how important it is to have an air ambulance in the area.”
Virginia Fire Extinguishers, which sells and services portable fire extinguishers, is selling the tickets for $10 each. The drawing date has been extended to June 30 in order to sell more tickets.
Nightingale also is scheduled to make an appearance at the drawing, set for 2 p.m. at Sentara Obici Hospital, to show all those in attendance why the money is needed. Ticket holders do not need to be present at the drawing to win.
The custom lifted electric golf cart includes new rims and tires, a radio with CD player and speakers, head lights and tail lights, side step bars, a new paint job, custom seats, a rear seat and a windshield.
