Four Lady Warriors honored

Two Lady Warriors made the first team for Conference 10, while two more made the Conference 10 second team.
Nansemond River High School’s girls’ basketball team has enjoyed a successful season thus far. The Lady Warriors finished first in the Conference 10 standings, so it was hardly a surprise that they were well represented on the all-conference team.
Though Nansemond River was recently upset in the Conference 10 tournament by Warwick High School, the Lady Warriors still have a bid to the regional tournament and are currently preparing.
Junior Briana Autrey and senior Cassidy Simmons lead the way on the first team. Seniors Nijha Shannon and Daijah Norris represent the Lady Warriors on the second team. Tashira Burch received honorable mention honors.
“Everyone got what they deserved,” Simmons said. “I’m very happy and proud of all of my teammates.”
