Gene Timothy Lee

Gene Timothy Lee, 67, of Portsmouth, was called home to be with his Lord and Savior on Jan. 11, 2017, at his residence. He was born in Suffolk to the late Velma Foster-Lee and Melvin Lee on Jan. 29, 1950.
He graduated from John F. Kennedy High School in 1970 and St. Paul College in Lawrenceville. Gene served in the U.S. Coast Guard for a number of years. He worked at QVC of Suffolk for more than 10 years. He was involved with outreach programs at Victory Gospel Chapel, Portsmouth.
He leaves to cherish his memory his spiritual mother, Priscilla Eison, and spiritual father, Elder George Eison, and all of his spiritual sisters and brothers at Victory Gospel Chapel of Portsmouth; two devoted cousins, Carroll E. Avery (John), of Queensvillage, N.Y., and Tawana S. Foster-Holland (Diago), of Suffolk; four devoted friends, Dennis Perkins, James Ennis, Calvin Massenburg, Pastor Clarence Gilliam, all of Portsmouth, and a host of cousins.
A wake will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 19, 2017, at Crocker Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 20, 2017, at Victory Gospel Chapel, 715 Summer Place, Portsmouth, officiated by Pastor George Eison. Interment will be Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery. Memorials may be given to Victory Gospel Chapel of Portsmouth in remembrance of Gene Lee.
