North Suffolk Walmart evacuated after gas smell

The College Drive Walmart was evacuated Thursday afternoon following a report of the odor of gas.
The incident was reported at 1:10 p.m., according to a city press release. Suffolk Fire & Rescue responded, as did Columbia Natural Gas, which isolated the odor to a heating unit on the roof of the facility.
Occupants had evacuated the building prior to the arrival of firefighters. There were no injuries. They were permitted to re-enter the building at 1:50 p.m.
Suffolk police provided traffic control at the scene.
