UPDATE: The Suffolk Police Department has advised that the teen has been found and is safe.

Suffolk police are asking for help from the public in locating a runaway teen they say is in danger because she did not take medicine she needs with her.

Mary Nicole Rawls, 17, was last seen on Jan. 1, when she left her home at about 2:30 p.m., according to a press release from the city. She was wearing black leggings, a coral shirt, black cowgirl boots and a Cowboys NFL slim-fit jacket.

She is described as 5-foot-1, 170 pounds, with light brown, medium-length hair and hazel eyes.

She has a medical condition that requires medication she left at home, the press release stated.

If anyone knows her whereabouts, they should call 911 with information.
