The Boo Williams/Ronald Curry Christmas Classic has been a heartbreaker for the King’s Fork girls’ basketball team, and the team’s record reflects the damage.
The Lady Bulldogs took on Colonial Forge High School in their second game of the tournament on Thursday, and they came away with their second loss of the tourney, which also was their second loss of the season.
KFHS lost 61-55. The last quarter proved to be the difference, as KF was outscored 15-7.
“I think we played well,” coach Maurice Fofana said. “We kind of lost it a little bit in the fourth quarter. I think that was the turning point for us that fourth quarter. We just didn’t finish.”
The Lady Bulldogs were up the whole the game before letting the fourth quarter slip away from them.
The Suffolk team is now 7-2 on the season.
