Saints fall to Hampton Christian

The Nansemond-Suffolk Academy boys’ basketball team took on Hampton Christian Academy at the Boo Williams Sportsplex on Tuesday, falling 70-64.

Hampton Christian is a quality opponent, and the win could have been a strong one for the Saints.

After ending the first quarter down four, NSA went on to outscore HCA by five in the following quarter. NSA even outscored HCA by one in the third, but in the fourth HCA pulled away by outscoring NSA 24-16.

The loss puts NSA at 4-5, and the win for HC puts them at 10-2. D.J. White led the way with 18 points.

NSA had four players score in double figures. Allen Strothers had 14 points, and Resean White added 13.

NSA will play Hampton Roads Academy Tuesday at home at 7 p.m.
