Delphine E. Taylor

Delphine E. Taylor, 73, transitioned Monday, Dec. 5, 2016, at Sentara Obici Hospital. She was a native of Suffolk and the daughter of Mary Frances Everett and the late Milton Almond. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eucless McCoy Taylor.

She attended East Suffolk High School. Delphine retired from Lipton Tea as a machine operator after 23 years of service. She was a member of Sixth Street Baptist Church.

She leaves to cherish her memory two daughters, Yvette Harden (Gregory), of Derby, Kan., and Tonya D. Taylor, of Suffolk; six sisters, Veta Cowling (Vincent), of Hampton, Vanessa Scurry (Eddie), of Augusta, Ga., Yvette Artis (Elvin), of Buford, Ga., Velma Taylor, of Suffolk, Frances E. Cohen (Richard), of Lawrenceville, N.J., and Sharon Hardin (Ronald), of Upper Marlboro, Md.; Raymond Edwards (Liv), of Oakville, Conn.; three sisters-in-law, Ethel Taylor, Diane Eley, both of Suffolk, Paulette Taylor, of Bowie, Md.; three grandchildren, Terrell Taylor, Tiffany McKibbon and Renee Taylor; one great-grandchild, Gregory McKibbon; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, Dec. 10, 2016, at 1 p.m. at Sixth Street Baptist Church, officiated by the Rev. Byron Joyce. Interment will be in Carver Memorial Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held Friday, Dec. 9, from 6 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. The family will assemble at the funeral home Saturday at noon for the processional to church.
