The King’s Fork High School cross country team placed third in the conference tournament meet at Bells Mill Park on Wednesday evening.
The No. 1 runner for the girl’s team, Paige Summers, had to scratch due to an injury she has been rehabilitating. Even with the scratch, the Bulldogs were able to qualify for regionals. Also, the boys’ team placed third, despite being down a runner.
Tytionna Smith and Hannah Marston were acknowledged for All-Conference awards after both placing in the top 15. Marcus Ramos and Tyler Gray, who placed 12th and 13th, were respectively acknowledged with All-Conference awards, as well, for Conference 17.
Regionals will be held Nov. 3 in Fredericksburg. There will be 16 teams in attendance, and the Bulldogs are hoping for a top-10 finish.
