Carolyn Faye Hedgepeth Piland, 67, of Zuni, passed away Oct. 24, 2016. She was born in Isle of Wight County to the late Burlee and Ida Hedgepeth. She is also predeceased by her son, Richie Piland. Carolyn worked at the Peanut Shop at the Presbyterian Home in Zuni. She was a member of Bethany Presbyterian Church, where she was active in the ladies’ group.

Carolyn is survived by her husband of 46 years, William “Billy” Piland; son, Eric Piland; sister and brother-in-law, Peggy and Michael Courtright; brother and sister-in-law, Larry and Nancy Hedgepeth; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

A graveside service will be held Friday, Oct. 28, 2016, at 2 p.m. at Windsor Cemetery, 36 E Griffin St. Windsor, VA 23487, with Pastor Steve Frazier officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Windsor Volunteer Rescue Squad, P.O.
