A tough night for volleyball

Tuesday night was opening night for three Suffolk schools in girls’ volleyball.
King’s Fork High School traveled to Indian River and lost 3-0 in straight sets (25-8, 25-23, 25-17). Next is a match at home against Western Branch tonight at 6 p.m.
The Lakeland High School Lady Cavaliers lost their home opener 3-0 to Oscar Smith (27-25, 25-22, 25-23). Their next match is today at 6 p.m. at Great Bridge.
Nansemond River High School also lost its home opener in straight sets to a solid Deep Creek team (25-7, 25-14, 25-10). The Lady Warriors are on the road at Hickory tonight at 6 p.m.
