A Newport News woman will face charges relating to a hit-and-run incident following an indictment by the grand jury on Wednesday.

Da’shia Deneice Baker, 24, was arrested June 17 on the charges stemming from an incident on June 9. City spokeswoman Diana Klink stated at the time of the arrest that officers had responded to the 1200 block of White Marsh Road on June 9 and found two vehicles with moderate damage, as well as a person requesting medical evaluation.

Police say Baker struck the two vehicles and the open door of a third vehicle when attempting to drive around a group of females who had met to discuss an issue, Klink said. She then fled the scene, Klink stated.

Baker was one of 37 defendants indicted on 68 total charges. The full grand jury report appears below.
