A five-vehicle accident in the 4800 block of Pruden Boulevard Saturday evening left four people with injuries and traffic being alternated between eastbound and westbound directions.
The accident took place at the intersection of Pruden and Old Myrtle Road just before 5:30 p.m. Saturday. Two of the five passenger vehicles involved rolled over, according to Suffolk police.
All of the vehicles’ occupants received emergency medical assessment and treatment by Suffolk Fire and Rescue personnel, and four adults were taken by ambulance to a local hospital with injuries considered not to have been life-threatening, according to Suffolk spokeswoman Diana Klink.
The road was completely shut down after the accident, but by 6:30 p.m., traffic was being alternated in the eastbound and westbound directions.
The cause of the accident is under investigation, Klink stated in a press release.
