Alysia Erin Pack, a nurse practitioner from Smithfield, has earned acceptance as a Duke-Johnson & Johnson Nurse Leadership Program Fellow, a position she will hold for the 2016-2017 program year.

“As a fellow, you will receive cutting-edge leadership and management training geared specifically to nurse leaders who are ready for advancement and have a passion for improved care for their patients and their communities,” Anh N. Tran, the program’s director and vice chief of education, wrote in the acceptance letter.

The Duke-Johnson & Johnson Nurse Leadership Program is a partnership between Duke University School of Medicine, Duke University School of Nursing and Johnson & Johnson.

Admission is highly competitive, with 30 fellows selected annually from a nationwide applicant pool.

The program will provide each fellow with innovative skills required to effectively address the needs of their communities — especially those of underserved populations — and to become change agents within their practice settings and the evolving health care environment.
