An evening full of culinary excellence, delightful performances, discussions and exhibits will be held June 26 at the Suffolk Center for Cultural Arts during “The Art of Supper: Dining Among the Stars” event, emceed by Barbara Hamm Lee.

The evening will begin with the gallery exhibition in the main foyer. The exhibit includes work from glass artist Neil Duman and award-winning photographers Linda and Bill Lane.

Afterwards, moving to the theater, there will be a brief program including a performance by the Jae Sinnett Trio. Michael Curry will be discussing his cookbook and how it evolved, as well as his background.

Several notable people who have contributed recipes for the book will be interviewed for the event. There will also be an auction for some great pieces, including Duman’s glassblowing art, a piece by Gloria Coker, the cover artist for Curry’s book, and many others.

After the program, some of the top regional chefs will create some of their own recipes for guests. The evening will end with a book signing with Michael Curry. The night will also include tapas, desserts and wine and performances by the Mosaic Steel Pan Orchestra.

Michael Curry, former Hampton Arts Foundation director, will promote his book and culinary art throughout the night. His book, which was recently released in April, is a collection of creative and universal recipes from a variety of celebrities and artists.

Among the contributors to the book include Joann Falletta, conductor and music director of the Virginia Symphony; Rob Cross, director of the Virginia Arts Festival; artist Gloria Coker; jazz pianist Justin Kauflin; and many art supporters.

General admission for the night is $125 per person. Several packages are offered for groups that prefer priority seating. The event will raise money for both the Suffolk Center of Cultural Arts and Suffolk Partnership for a Healthy Community.
