A Suffolk man was arrested on Tuesday on a charge of shooting into an occupied home in Franklin, according to Capt. Tim Whitt, spokesman for the Franklin Police Department.

James Darcell “Poo” O’Neal turned himself in following a search that began Monday morning when the event allegedly occurred. The local police had sent out an alert they were seeking a suspect.

O’Neal’s last known address is in the 800 block of Nixon Drive in Suffolk.

Other arrest warrants include use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, destruction of property, reckless handling of a firearm and discharging a firearm within city limits.

O’Neal is being held at the Western Tidewater Regional Jail without bond.
