To the editor:

Why do we only show those who get sports scholarships signing the dotted line in the paper? While it is a great achievement and greatly deserved, we tend to discriminate against those who get academic scholarships.

So my question is why we do not show those who get the academic scholarships signing the dotted line, for that, too, is a great achievement. It just seems our society puts more emphasis on the sports side of things and not the educational achievements our young kids work hard to obtain.
