Police investigate bank robbery

Suffolk police are investigating a bank robbery that occurred at the Xenith Bank located in the 1000 block of North Main Street in the Suffolk Plaza Shopping Center Thursday morning.
Emergency Communications received a call at 10:04 a.m. advising that a black male wearing a white surgical mask entered the bank and demanded money, according to a city press release. The subject fled in a dark sedan after receiving an undisclosed amount of currency. There were no injuries.
The subject was further described as approximately 5 feet, 8 inches to 6 feet tall, weighing approximately 150 to 170 pounds, and between the ages of 25 to 35. He was wearing a tan shirt and pants, dark colored shoes, and a dark knit cap.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP. When calling Crime Line, callers do not have to give their names or appear in court. If information leads to an arrest, the caller or “tipster” could qualify for a reward of up to $1,000.
