A North Suffolk resident has written a book that she hopes will encourage those suffering from loss.

Scott wrote "Triple Loss" after losing her mother, husband and sister.

Beverly Scott wrote “Triple Loss,” detailing her experiences after losing three close family members in very quick succession — her mother in 2001, her husband in 2002 and her sister in 2003.

“This is about how God helped me overcome having one loss right behind the other,” she said.

Scott is a transplant to Suffolk, having moved here after retirement to be closer to her descendants, which include one child, two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

She said she has been working on the book slowly over the past few years.

“It’s a small book with large encouragement,” Scott said.

In the book, she discusses her life before the losses and then how she dealt with each one. Her husband’s death hit her especially hard.

“Even though he had been sick for a while, it was just the finality of it,” she said.

Scott said she hopes others will be able to realize that God is helping them through her book.

“In the face of adversity, God will always bring you through,” she said. “You’ve got to trust him. I’m not saying it’s easy, but he will always sustain you and always bring you through.”

Scott’s book is available for purchase on Amazon.com.
