An electrical issue has caused heating problems at Windsor Elementary School, officials announced late Tuesday morning.

Dominion Virginia Power is working to resolve the issue, and students in the coldest classrooms have been moved to the cafeteria, Isle of Wight County Schools spokeswoman Lynn Briggs stated in an email at 11:15 a.m.

Parents have been called about the situation, and those who are worried about their children have been invited to pick them up.

“We are monitoring the repair work to see what, if any, impact the problem may have on Wednesday’s schedule,” Briggs stated.

The outdoor temperature in Windsor at 11 a.m. Tuesday was 24 degrees Fahrenheit, with a light wind and snow flurries, according to The Weather Channel online.

Wednesday’s forecast calls for the start of a warming trend, with high temperatures climbing to around 48 degrees Wednesday afternoon before heading into the low 60s by Sunday.
