Libraries are great, but not equal

To the editor:
I love the libraries in the city of Suffolk.
The libraries are among Suffolk’s greatest public resources. They have been and still are irreplaceable sources of help for being able to get things done, being creative and learning about the world and everything in it.
The library in Suffolk has often been a saving grace for me, especially in areas of research and instantaneous information.
Regarding the library’s employees, one couldn’t ask for anyone to be more polite, conscientious, gracious, educated and informed. They really know their jobs.
Additionally, kudos to all who played parts in the expansion, the reorganization, the remodeling and the continually creative décor, which delights our hearts each and every day.
However, none of us is perfect, and I hope that the following criticisms will be taken constructively.
The vending machines at the Morgan Memorial and North Suffolk libraries have similar products, but the machine at the North Suffolk branch, which is located in a more affluent neighborhood, charges a price of 50 cents on crackers, and the one at Morgan Memorial (a less-affluent neighborhood) charges the higher price of 60 cents on its crackers.
Even the time allowed for computer usage differs between branches. North Suffolk allows 180 minutes, while the downtown branch allows only 160 minutes.
