Police investigate robbery

Suffolk police are investigating an armed robbery that happened Wednesday evening.
The crime happened at the Exxon in the 800 block of West Constance Road about 7:30 p.m., according to a city press release. The clerk told police that a man entered the store, produced a handgun, demanded money and received an undisclosed amount of cash.
The suspect may have left the scene in a black vehicle, according to the release. The victim was not injured.
The suspect is described as black, 5 feet 11 inches tall, 160 pounds, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, gray jobbing pants and brown work boots with his face covered by a silver-colored shirt.
Anyone who has information is asked to call Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP or text the keyword SPDVATIP and the tip to 274637 (CRIMES). Tipsters never have to give their names or appear in court, and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
