Weather shakes up football schedule

Nansemond-Suffolk Academy was the only Suffolk high school that was able to get its football game in this week as inclement weather led to postponements for the city’s three public schools.

Lakeland High School activities director Greg Rountree said the Cavaliers’ road game against Deep Creek High School has been tentatively re-scheduled for Monday at 7 p.m.

King’s Fork High School football coach Joe Jones said the Bulldogs’ road game against Great Bridge High School has also been tentatively re-scheduled for Monday at 7 p.m.

Nansemond River High School football coach David Coccoli could not confirm a make-up date and time for the Warriors’ road game against Indian River High School as of Thursday evening.
