Saunders, Everett wed

Elizabeth Logan Saunders and Daniel Wade Everett were united in marriage at 5:30 p.m. on June 26, 2015. at the Woman’s Club of Portsmouth.
The ceremony was officiated by Dr. Edward Garrett and the Rev. O.H. Burton, and wedding music was provided by the Galliard Trio.
Miss Saunders, daughter of Mark and Mary Nancy Saunders, of Carrollton, was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents and her brother. Soloists included Pamela and Richard Turner, of Smithfield, cousins of the bride. Amber Saunders of Carrollton, sister-in-law of the bride, served as matron of honor, and Laura Lee Worrell, of Suffolk, friend of the bride, served as maid of honor. Bridesmaid attendants included Lindsey Everett, of Smithfield, sister of the groom, and friends of the bride, Katelyn Gwaltney, of Windsor, Danise Batista, of Richmond, and Caitlin Volchansky, of Lorton.
Mr. Everett is the son of the late David “Bit” Everett and Robin O. Everett, of Smithfield. Joseph Saunders, of Carrollton, brother of the bride and childhood friend of the groom, served as best man. Serving as groomsmen were friends of the groom, Chris Jordan, of Windsor, Ryan West, of Smithfield, Michael Doggett, of Windsor, and Josh Nelms, of Smithfield. The bride and groom were attended by Carleigh Saunders, daughter of Susan and Whit Saunders, of Carrollton, and cousin of the bride, as flower girl, and Caden Jordan, son of Heather and Chris Jordan, of Windsor, and friend of the bride and groom, as ring bearer.
Cocktail hour, dinner and dancing provided by the band, Rare Mixx, followed the ceremony.
Mrs. Everett is a 2008 graduate of Isle of Wight Academy and a 2012 graduate of Longwood University with a Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education. She is a 2015 graduate of Old Dominion University with a master’s degree in reading instruction and is employed by Chesapeake Public Schools.
Mr. Everett is a 2005 graduate of Isle of Wight Academy and a 2008 graduate of Southside Regional Fire Academy. Mr. Everett received his Bachelor of Science degree in fire science from Columbia Southern University in the spring of 2014. He is employed as a firefighter by the city of Suffolk.
After honeymooning in Jamaica, the couple is residing in Smithfield.
