Alease P. Parker, 63, of 140 Maple St., Suffolk, died Friday, Sept. 11, 2015, at her residence. She was a native of Suffolk and the daughter of the late James Odom and Ruth Parker Dotson.

She was a graduate of John F. Kennedy High School class of 1969 and attended Strayer University. She was employed as an administrative assistant for project contracts at Virginia Department of Transportation. Alease was a member of St. Paul RZUA Church, where she was a member of the Missionary Board, church secretary assistant, Sunday school assistant secretary, Gospel Choir and Combined Choir. She was a licensed Virginia contract administrator for VDOT.

She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Walter R. Parker Jr.; one daughter, Latousha P. Jackson, of Chesapeake; five sons, Ruben Darnell Parker, Curtis London Parker, Steven Vernard Parker, all of Suffolk, Anthony Sean Parker, of Alexandria, and Walter R. Parker III, of East Hampton, N.J.; 23 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; one sister, Sandra Parker Holliman, of Suffolk; nieces, Angel Merrin, Michelle Holiman, Tracy Holliman; nine great-nieces and -nephews; mother-in-law, Dorothy M. Parker; other relatives and friends.

A funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 19, 2015, at Tabernacle Christian Church officiated by Dr. Edward P. Foreman. Entombment will be in Carver Memorial Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 18, at Crocker Funeral Home. Condolences may be extended to the family at www.crockerfuneralhome.com.
