One sent to hospital after crash

Suffolk Fire & Rescue and Suffolk Police responded to the scene of a single vehicle accident in the 7600 block of South Quay Road Sunday evening.
The crash was reported about 8 p.m., according to a city press release.
The single occupant vehicle reportedly ran off the road and struck a brick mailbox. The driver suffered serious injuries and, following medical assessment and treatment by Suffolk Fire & Rescue, was air transported by Nightingale to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.
The accident remains under investigation.
