A former Suffolk police officer who faces charges in an assault incident in August now has an additional charge pending from another incident.
Nicholas Mark Thompson, 34, was earlier charged with abduction, strangulation, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony and domestic assault for an Aug. 19 incident.
He now faces a charge of assault and battery of a family member related to an incident that occurred during the early morning hours of Aug. 15 at a residence in the 100 block of Toddsbury Lane, according to city spokeswoman Diana Klink.
As is customary with domestic violence incidents, the name of the victim is not being released, Klink said.
Thompson’s employment with the Suffolk Police Department was terminated Aug. 21.
In December 2014, Thompson was charged with brandishing a firearm and assault and battery of a household member after his then-wife alleged he had brandished his service weapon, pointed it at her temple and threatened to shoot during an altercation on Sept. 27, she wrote in a sworn statement filed with Suffolk Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court.
He again assaulted her on Nov. 9, she said in the statement.
Last year’s case against Thompson was dropped at his then-wife’s request.
