Lady Saints top Cape Henry, compete in Richmond

The Nansemond-Suffolk Academy girls’ volleyball team reasserted itself as the dominant force in the Tidewater Conference of Independent Schools on Thursday with a 25-17, 25-13, 25-10 victory over host Cape Henry Collegiate School.

The Lady Dolphins defeated the Lady Saints 3-1 last year to claim the TCIS tournament championship.

On Thursday, NSA junior outside hitter Logan Harrell led the way for her team with a strong all-around performance: nine aces, 13 digs, six kills and 15 points on serve.

The Lady Saints began competition this weekend in a Richmond showcase event. They went 1-2 on Friday, achieving a 25-15, 25-19, 22-25, win over Osbourn Park High School.

Nansemond-Suffolk will visit Norfolk Academy on Tuesday.
