The Lakeland High School golf team lost 398-324 to Indian River High School on Thursday at Bide-A-Wee Golf Course in Portsmouth, but the Cavaliers continue to shave strokes from their team score.
Lakeland junior James Whitley shot a 94 on Thursday, while sophomore Ben Leonard shot a 98. Freshman Corey Hasson shot a 102, and freshman Brehon Epps shot a 104.
The Cavs compete against Oscar Smith High School on Sept. 16 at Bide-A-Wee Golf Course.
