Suffolk’s very own Harbour View area is home to one of America’s fastest growing companies, according to Inc. 5000.
In fact, 2015 is the third year in a row Reed Integration has made the list.
“This is a big deal for us to win it three years in a row,” said Becky Reed, president and chief executive officer of Reed Integration. This year, the company ranked No. 1,924.
The North Suffolk company does business with the Coast Guard, NASA and multiple other organizations. The company’s services include project management and integrated engineering, risk assessments and the balancing of budgets, schedules and technical requirements.
One-quarter of the business has to do with their training programs, said Steve Waddell, vice president of Reed Integration. They train in program management, project management and systems engineering.
In order to be selected for the Inc. 5000 award, companies send in information on their business. Then, Inc. 5000 selects the companies they believe best fit the description. For their rating, Reed Integration received a congratulatory letter from Inc. 5000 as well as a copy of the magazine.
Among the company’s other impressive company recognitions, it placed 10th on Virginia’s Fantastic 500 list. This is also the third year it was placed on this list, and it was the only business in Hampton Roads to be selected for it. They also won a spot on Inside Business’s “Roaring 20” list for the fastest growing companies in the region.
“If we make them successful, our success will follow,” Waddell said on working with their clients.
Every business they have worked with has hired them again, Reed said.
Reed and Waddell credit their success to their team as well as their efforts to create a good environment and make sure they hire the correct people for the job. Reed says that their team is full of dedicated, intelligent, hard working people.
After starting in Alabama in 2002, the company has been in Virginia since 2003. The business works with other companies all over the country and has employees in various parts of the country. They also work virtually with one company, Waddell said. Eventually, they hope to open another location in Charleston, S.C.
“Many thanks to our customers for hiring us,” Steve said on winning this award.
