Bulldogs ground Hawks on court

The King’s Fork High School boys’ volleyball team may be short on experience, but the Bulldogs still opened their season with a win.
They took on host Hickory High School on Thursday, trading sets before striking the final blow: 25-18, 17-25, 25-21, 18-25, 15-8.
Bulldogs senior Drequan Wilson led his team with 16 kills and added four assists and two blocks. His brother, senior Deshaun Wilson, contributed nine kills, two blocks and one ace, and sophomore Rontre Pope had nine kills and three blocks.
King’s Fork (1-0) hosts Indian River High School on Tuesday.
