Two intersections in Carrollton and Smithfield will have lane closures for about two weeks while the Virginia Department of Transportation paves the roads.

Crews began Sunday and aim to be finished by July 24 at 6 a.m., according to VDOT. Single lane closures will take place during off-peak hours. All lanes will be open during the morning and evening rush hours.

The affected intersections are Route 17 and Smiths Neck Road in Carrollton as well as the intersection of Route 258 and the Route 10 bypass in Smithfield.
