A downed tree knocked out power and blocked access to downtown’s Hollywood neighborhood on Monday morning.
The downed tree in the 400 block of Hollywood Avenue was reported at 1:11 a.m. About 180 Dominion Virginia Power customers were without electricity after the tree knocked down lines, according to a city press release.
By 9:30 a.m., traffic was moving in and out of the neighborhood via a single lane near the intersection of Hollywood and Vermont avenues, according to the release. Dominion crews stayed on scene until about 1 p.m. restoring power, and Public Works crews removed the tree and its debris.
