Charles Christopher Ellis

Charles Christopher Ellis went home to be with the Lord in the early hours of Wednesday, June 10, 2015, surrounded by loved ones, after a courageous battle with lung cancer.
Charles (Chris) was born April 30, 1971, in Suffolk, to Charles Eugene and Virgie Faye Rose Ellis.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Mary Ann Vaughan-Ellis; sons, Gregory Ellis, Dakota Ellis, Darnell McCready and Grant Ellis; daughter, Sydney Ellis; and stepson, Chris Vaughan. In addition, he is survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, June 14, 2015, at 2 p.m. in Trinity United Methodist Church, Smithfield, by the Rev. Jeff Cannon and Rev. Drew Ensz. The family will greet guests immediately following the service at the church. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society. R.W. Baker & Co. According to Chris’ wishes, his body was donated to the Virginia State Anatomical Program for medical education and scientific study.
