The Nansemond-Suffolk Academy golf team came in third in the Tidewater Conference of Independent Schools championship held earlier this week at Bide-A-Wee Golf Course in Portsmouth.
The Saints ended the tournament with a team score of 311, finishing behind two schools from a higher division within the Virginia Independent Schools Athletic Association.
Norfolk Academy won the TCIS championship with a score of 293, and Cape Henry Collegiate School was the runner-up with a 301 score.
Making the all-conference first team for NSA was senior Keith Cooper, by virtue of shooting a one-under-par 71 on the day, and junior Thomas Meyers, who shot a four-over 76.
Nansemond-Suffolk will compete on Monday in the VISAA Division II state championship at The Manor Golf Club in Farmville.
