Gamma Xi Chapter, Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. will host its 19th annual Gamma Xi Uplift Foundation—Jerome Alston golf tournament on May 16 at Sleepy Hole Golf Course.
Proceeds from this event will benefit the foundation’s scholarship fund, as well as its social action projects throughout South Hampton Roads. Combating violence against women is one of its major initiatives.
The tourney will feature a Captains Choice format, and the entry fee is $75 per golfer. Individuals not already on a team will be assigned one on site.
Sign-in begins at 11 a.m., the driving range opens at noon and the tournament features a shotgun start at 1 p.m.
There will be a wide range of prizes, as well as drawings. There’s an opportunity to putt for $5,000 in cash, and there are four hole-in-one prizes. One select player will get an opportunity to try for one million dollars on a selected 165-yard hole.
In addition, the foundation is raffling two mini iPads. Winners don’t need to be present to win.
There are sponsorship opportunities available for businesses that include hole signage and complimentary passes to play in the tourney.
