Suffolk police say they are conducting a criminal investigation involving City Manager Selena Cuffee-Glenn’s husband, Keith Glenn.
“The allegation being investigated concerns filing a false report to police,” city spokeswoman Diana Klink wrote in an emailed response to questions. “The Police Department will not be commenting any further on this open investigation.”
She also noted Glenn has not been arrested or charged as of Thursday afternoon.
Police reports show that Glenn, 51, reported a hit and run at his home on Kendal Way last Thursday. The next day, a police report shows that police responded to a report of filing a false police report on Kendal Way.
According to a WAVY report, an unnamed neighbor heard a crash and then saw Glenn get out of his pickup truck and inspect the damage to his wife’s car after he apparently had backed into it.
Circuit Court Clerk Randy Carter said this Thursday that a search warrant filed in the case was sealed, and the order that sealed it was also sealed.
Asked how common it was to seal not only a search warrant but also the sealing order, he said it happens “all the time.”
By statute, it will become public in 90 days unless the police department applies for it to remain sealed, Carter said. Search warrants also usually become public once charges have been filed, regardless of the time elapsed.
Cuffee-Glenn’s last day with the city of Suffolk is May 15. She has taken the same job with the city of Richmond.
