A Suffolk man has been arrested and charged with alleged sex crimes against a girl that he knows.

Corey Jerome Smith, 35, was arrested Tuesday on charges of rape, aggravated sexual battery, taking indecent liberties with a child and cruelty and injuries to children, according to city spokeswoman Diana Klink.

The investigation is ongoing, and no more information is available, Klink added.
