The Nansemond-Suffolk Academy baseball team has suffered two straight losses in heart-breaking fashion during its last two trips to the diamond.
On Tuesday, the Saints led host Norfolk Academy 6-5 going into the seventh and final inning. But they allowed two runs in the bottom of the inning, giving the Bulldogs a 7-6 victory.
Despite the loss, NSA junior Sam Neal and sophomore Mitchell Williams had two hits apiece.
The game was a rematch between the teams that battled in the 2014 Tidewater Conference of Independent Schools tournament championship game.
On Saturday, host Christchurch School defeated the Saints 8-7 in eight innings, after Nansemond-Suffolk took a 7-6 lead into the seventh.
NSA junior Dominick Claxton had three hits.
The Saints (6-5, 4-2) visit Cape Henry Collegiate School this afternoon.
