To the editor:

There have been many letters about the reasons that the former Obici Hospital site should be made into a city park so I will not rehash all that in this letter.

I simply have two words to say to our mayor, City Council and city planners: “common sense.”

In the 23 years I have lived in Suffolk, I have observed that it is a constant struggle to attract visitors and customers to downtown Suffolk. A beautiful city park in downtown Suffolk would contribute to making the city more appealing and pleasing to visit.

It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure that out, so please use some old-fashioned, practical common sense and give us our park.
